The founding assembly of the Croatian Fulbright and Hubert H. Humphrey Alumni Association (HF) was held at the Rochester Institute of Technology Croatia on June 14, 2023. The Statute was adopted, and the bodies of HF were appointed.

According to the Statute, the goal of establishing HF is to bring together academics, Fulbright and Hubert H. Humphrey program alumni to promote the idea of acquiring education, scientific exchange, and cultural understanding between Croatia and the United States. The activities envisaged include:

  • Encouraging and maintaining cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the United States in the fields of education, science, and culture,
  • Developing mutual cooperation among Croatian alumni and their collaboration with alumni from other countries,
  • Organizing assistance and support for American program alumni in Croatia,
  • Regularly maintaining contact with new program participants from Croatia to facilitate their integration into the American academic system and, upon their return, the effective application of research outcomes from the U.S.,
  • Promoting interdisciplinary contacts through public forums, regular and extraordinary conventions of the Association, and other gatherings,
  • Involving members of the Association in activities beneficial to the community,
  • Publishing newsletters and bulletins of the Association, and
  • Collaborating with similar associations and clubs in Croatia and worldwide.

Luka Boršić was elected president of HF, Mila Moralić as vice president, Tvrtko Jakovina as secretary, and Milivoj Marković, Koraljka Gall Trošelj, and Maja Čakarun as members of the Supervisory Board. Jure Konjevod was appointed as the treasurer.

HF will soon be registered in the Register of Associations, and its first activities are planned for September.
